Why is the macOS app unsigned?

We'd love to participate in the Apple Developer Program and provide a fully signed macOS app, but the cost just doesn't make sense for this project.

The Apple Developer Program costs $99/year. For a free, open-source hobby project supported by optional $10 donations, this recurring fee would consume most (or all) of the supporter contributions.

Instead of charging users more or running at a loss, we've chosen to:

• Keep NumiSync Wizard completely free to use
• Provide clear installation instructions for the unsigned app
• Focus resources on features and improvements rather than Apple fees

The app is safe to use — it's open source and built automatically via GitHub Actions. You just need to right-click and select "Open" the first time you launch it.

💡 Note: If Apple ever introduces a free tier for individual developers (like Microsoft recently did), we'll gladly sign the app!
